So, the much-anticipated engagement happened and here are all the details you should know. Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari looked chic and elegant as she opted to wear ensemble designed by Nida Azwer. The dress was a beautiful mixture of the shades of pink and peach rendered in meticulous embroideries. The ensemble complimented her fair skin, making her look ethereal. What caught our eye and everyone else’s that’s been making the rounds on social media is the lovely miniature Mughal chaddar by Nida Azwer. This kahi silk chaddar depicting the royalty of the sub-continent partial to zardozi hand embroidery looked simply divine! The Avant Garde heirloom piece spoke volumes about Bakhtawar’s taste and reminded us of the same gracefulness that Mohtarma Benazir carried herself with. This timeless art was quite the appropriate choice given the circumstances and we completely stand by this choice.
The engagement was held at Bilawal House and couldn’t be attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as he had contracted the virus (COVID-19) and was in isolation but he was there present via video call. Asif Ali Zardari also attended the function for a very short duration as the sources revealed that he was admitted to the hospital prior to the function. Different types of cuisine were prepared for the guests including putting a whole new and different menu for the children. The décor was all done in whites and shades of pink and peach, keeping the color combination of Bakhtawar in mind and it was extremey surreal.
The ceremony was attended by a total of a 100 to 150 people. Few guests who had also arrived from the UAE were also in attendance. Others noticeable guests who graced the event with their presence were from business tycoon such as Riaz Laljee to politician such as Senator Sherry Rehman. Also, to new a few more were Faryal Talpur, Sanam Bhutto, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Dr. Asim Hussain, Farooq H. Naek, Anwar Majeed and his son A.G. Majeed and other high profilers.
The event was overall a hit. Both Bakhtawar and Mahmood looked lovely in their traditional attires and were all smiles throughout the function.
