#TBT: Naimal Khawar And Aima Baig Sultry In Red In MNR!
January 7, 2021

These ladies are just painting the town red.

Thursdays are for #throwbacks, or basically other day can be one when we have these two beauties on our radar. Naimal Khawar Abbasi and Aima Baig. Yes, you read that right. We’ve chosen these lovelies because they have painted the town red with their dangerously good looks and sultry fashion choices. Naturally, with Mohsin Naveed Ranjha aka MNR being their chosen designer, they could not look more ethereal.

Starting from the gorgeous Naimal Khawar Abbasi, who chose to wear ‘Zama’ir’ from MNR’s ‘Preet Lari’ bridal collection for her sister Fiza Khawar’s Mehndi. The dress was customized in a peshwas lehenga silhouette. Originally donned by none than the stunner Mahira Khan, we feel Naimal did justice to it as well. Only difference being the length of sleeves, with originally them being half but for Mrs. Abbasi they were made in full length. Zama’ir is a 5-piece bridal outfit consisting of a two-tiered velvet lehenga, a velvet choli and two dupattas. Why two dupattas you ask? Good question we had the same thing in mind. As it turns out, the shawl that matches and compliments the motifs is optional. You can either go for the shawl or the contrast heavily embellished chand-booti dupatta with 4-sided hand embellished borders. Take your pick. Naimal chose the dupatta while originally Mahira wore it with the shawl, both ladies serving us a nice look and defiantly on point in their own customized versions. We have to admit that Naimal looked traditional and regal, yet with an added modern twist to it. She was hands down a perfect bridesmaid, and anyone who has a similar line of duty for this wedding season, should definitely take notes from her!

The next lady in red who caught our eye is the sensational singer Aima Baig. Who opted for a sultry red saree from MNR’s very recent ‘Capri Cinema’ collection on her sister’s wedding. This collection pays a tribute and homage to the stars that once were. The leading ladies of Lollywood from different eras who ruled the silver screen. The glistening glittering stars that upheld the Pakistani cinema and made it what it is today. Aima choose the saree in red, named after the fashion icon Babra Sharif. The Babra Sharif saree is a 3-piece mirage of opulent crimson hues over a luxurious bed of velvet. A meticulously hand embellished silk fall saree with a pallu with a gleaming border worn with a carefully crafted halter neck choli. Aima kept her look very simple. She had draped a chunri shawl all around her, with smokey eyes, nude lips and an 80’s hairdo that was keeping in line with the legendary saree, she made all heads turn. Resulting in this sweetheart also being bridesmaid goals.

We think it’s safe to say both the girls stole the show. As bridesmaids, they played their role perfectly. Funny how bridesmaids are opting for bright, deep reds, not shying away from such opulent colors, whereas the brides are opting for lighter shades. Trends surely have changed, but in this case, for the better!
